How are you living your dash? In order to know how you are living the dash, you need to know what it is. The dash is simply the line between the date of your birth and the date of your death; it represents the life you lived.
How Are You Living Your Dash
The concept of the dash isn’t anything I’ve come up with, but actually comes from a friend of mine, Jim Pourteau. He is a John Maxwell Certified Life Coach, and he shared this wonderful video on Facebook.
(Here is the link to the hat he mentioned!)
Are you in the process of filling in your dash with the things you believe in? Or are you chasing things that leave you unsatisfied?
You can be after things that seem appealing on the surface, but if the things you are chasing do not align with your passions and desires, you will not be satisfied. When you put in the work for the things that line up with the life you want to live, then you begin to be satisfied.
Satisfaction isn’t in money, work, or other things you are told that make you successful. Satisfaction happens when you achieve your goals.
What about the American Dream?
Which sounds more appealing: Achieving the dreams the world has set for you, or achieving the dreams you have set for yourself? You see, when you are living your dash for others, you are not living your life. You are living the expectations of someone else’s design for your life. Not every person is designed the same, and that’s why it is so important to live the life you are meant to live!
It doesn’t matter if the American Dream says you are successful. If you do not love the life you are living then you need to change because you only get one shot at life. Chase the Life You Love, and don’t blow it.
So, how are you living your dash?
